HB508 would increase Russell County's judge of probate compensation by $10,000 a year, first as an expense allowance and later as a salary increase that becomes the total pay.
It adds an annual $10,000 expense allowance for the Russell County Judge of Probate, starting the first day of the month after the act becomes effective, paid from the county general fund and in addition to any other pay or allowances. When the incumbent judge's term ends, the annual salary for the judge of probate is increased by $10,000 per year, paid from the county general fund in equal monthly installments, and the earlier expense allowance ends (the new salary becomes the total compensation and replaces all other pay or allowances). The act becomes effective on October 1 following its passage and governor's approval.
