- Description
Under existing law, a public corporation may be organized for the purpose of providing a public transportation system in any county having a population of not less than 600,000 according to the last or any subsequent federal decennial census.
Also under existing law, the existence of an authority incorporated under, or governed by, the provisions of this act in a county shall prevent the subsequent incorporation of another authority under this act in the same county.
This bill would provide that one or more public corporations may be organized for the purpose of providing a public transportation system in any county having a population of not less than 600,000 according to the last or any subsequent federal decennial census.
This bill would repeal the prohibition that the existence of an authority incorporated under, or governed by, the provisions of this act in a county shall prevent the subsequent incorporation of another authority under this act in the same county.
