Title
Elections, boards of registrars, co. commission to designate holidays for which compensated, registrars compensated on days where co. commission closes government, Sec. 17-3-5 am'd.
Description
<p class="bill_description"> Under existing law, if a legal holiday falls
on a day a county board of registrars is to be in
session, and the courthouse of the county is closed
for the holiday, the members of the board are
compensated for the holiday</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would authorize the county
commission to designate the county holidays for
which the members of the board of registrars would
be compensated</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would also require the members of
a board of registrars to be compensated for those
days when the county commission closes county
government due to any event affecting public health
or safety</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> To amend Section 17-3-5, Code of Alabama 1975,
relating to the compensation of the members of county boards
of registrars; to authorize the county commission to designate
the county holidays for which registrars are to be
compensated; and to require registrars to be compensated for
those days when the county commission closes county government
due to any event affecting public health or safety.
