Title
Polygraph Examiners, further requirements for licensure by Board of Polygraph Examiners, regarding fingerprints and criminal background checks, Sec. 34-25-22 am'd
Description

Currently, applicants for licensure as a polygraph examiner must apply in writing to the Board of Polygraph Examiners and the application contains requests for certain information as determined by the board

This bill would require applicants to submit two complete sets of fingerprints to the board; would require the board to submit the fingerprints to the State Bureau of Investigations; would require the bureau to forward a set of the prints to the FBI for a national criminal history background check; would require written consent by the applicant for the release of the criminal history background information to the board; and would require the applicant to bear the costs of the background checks

To amend Section 34-25-22, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to applications for licensure as a polygraph examiner; to additionally require an applicant to provide two sets of fingerprints to the Board of Polygraph Examiners to forward to the State Bureau of Investigations for a state and national background check of the applicant; to require an applicant to give written consent to release the results of the background checks to the Board of Polygraph Examiners; and to require the applicant to bear the costs of the background checks.
