Ethics law, municipalities auth. to rehire retired law enforcement officers and firefighters if auth. by local law, notice to Ethics Commission, Sec. 36-25-13 am'd.
Description
<p class="bill_description"> Under existing law, a public employee may not be rehired by his or her former public employer, including a county or municipal employer, for a period of two years after he or she leaves the employment or working arrangement</p><p class="bill_description"> This bill would authorize a municipality to rehire a retired law enforcement officer or firefighter of the municipality at any time if authorized by local law</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> To amend Section 36-25-13, as last amended by Act 2016-128, 2016 Regular Session, relating to ethics and public employees, to authorize a municipality to rehire a retired law enforcement officer or firefighter of the municipality at any time if authorized by local law. </p>
