Law enforcement, allegations of excessive force, Ala. Criminal Justice Information System to collect data on, reports to legislative committees
Description
<p class="bill_description"> This bill would allow law enforcement officers to use only the force that is reasonably necessary to effect lawful objectives, such as tasers and chemical irritant aerosols, and would prescribe when lethal force may be used</p><p class="bill_description"> This bill would also require the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission to adopt policies consistent with this requirement</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> Relating to law enforcement; to allow law enforcement officers to use only the force that is reasonably necessary to effect lawful objectives; to prescribe when lethal force may be used; and to require the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission to adopt policies consistent with this requirement. </p>
