Regular Session 2020
Title
Military families, requires school districts operating magnet schools to accept enrollment applications for military children where families have received transfer orders to Alabama military installations
Description

This bill would require public K-12 school districts operating magnet schools to accept an application for enrollment in a magnet school for a child of a military family when that family has received orders to transfer to an Alabama military installation, so long as the family will reside within the state before the first day of school.

This bill would also prohibit public school districts operating magnet schools from restricting entry of a child of a military family to any magnet school based solely on that child's home address, so long as the child lives within the school district.
