Title
Pardons and Paroles Board, require electronic monitoring for certain inmates upon release, to provide for implementation, provide nondriver photo identification upon release from DOC, Secs. 15-22-26.2, 15-22-29, 41-27-3.2 am'd.
Description

Under existing law, a parolee or probationer who violates the conditions of his or her parole is required to serve a 45 day period of confinement in a Department of Corrections facility in certain circumstances.

This bill would allow parolees and probationers to serve the 45 day period of confinement in a county jail.

This bill would also require the Department of Corrections to pay a county jail a set rate for housing a parolee or probationer in certain circumstances.

This bill would also provide that the Department of Corrections is responsible for health care costs of parolees and probationers being housed in a county jail facility.

This bill would also make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
