Title
Pardons and Paroles Board, require electronic monitoring for certain inmates upon release, to provide for implementation, provide nondriver photo identification upon release from DOC, Secs. 15-22-26.2, 15-22-29, 41-27-3.2 am'd.
Description
<p class="bill_description"> Under existing law, a parolee or probationer
who violates the conditions of his or her parole is
required to serve a 45 day period of confinement in
a Department of Corrections facility in certain
circumstances</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would allow parolees and
probationers to serve the 45 day period of
confinement in a county jail</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would also require the Department
of Corrections to pay a county jail a set rate for
housing a parolee or probationer in certain
circumstances</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would also provide that the
Department of Corrections is responsible for health
care costs of parolees and probationers being
housed in a county jail facility</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would also make nonsubstantive,
technical revisions to update the existing code
language to current style</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> Relating to the Department of Corrections and
pardons and paroles; to amend Sections 15-22-29, 15-22-32, and
15-22-52, and Section 15-22-54, as last amended by Act
2019-513, 2019 Regular Session, Code of Alabama 1975, to allow
parolee and probation violators to serve confinement in a
county jail in certain circumstances; to require the
Department of Corrections to pay a county jail to house
parolees and probationers in certain circumstances; to require
that the Department of Corrections is responsible for the
health care costs of parolees and probationers in certain
circumstances; and to make nonsubstantive, technical revisions
to update the existing code language to current style.
