SB147 continues the Alabama Public Service Commission until October 1, 2028, with no changes to its duties, under the Sunset Law.
If enacted, the Public Service Commission would be kept in existence and allowed to operate through October 1, 2028. The bill preserves the current laws that create and govern the PSC (Title 37, Chapter 1) without making changes to its structure or authority. The Legislature agrees with the Sunset Committee's recommendation to continue the PSC. The act becomes effective June 1, 2024.
