- Campaign advertisements; rates charged by broadcasting stations limited to lowest unit rate in certain circumstances
- Description
Under federal election law, during the 45-day period before a primary election and the 60-day period before a general election, advertisements by candidates airing on a broadcast station are entitled to the lowest unit rates.
This bill would provide that during that same prescribed period of time before an election, advertisements by qualified candidates, principal campaign committees, and party executive committees airing on a broadcast station would be entitled to the lowest unit rates charged by that broadcasting station for advertisements during that class and period of time.
