The bill lets the Board of Pardons and Paroles or other state agencies provide electronic monitoring for allegedly delinquent children released from custody under certain conditions.
The bill amends the law to authorize electronic monitoring as a supervision option for allegedly delinquent children released from custody. It allows the juvenile court or intake officer to impose restrictions on travel, association, or where the child lives, and to place the child under electronic or telephone monitoring if available. It also authorizes the Board of Pardons and Paroles or other state agencies to provide electronic monitoring services. The release and detention decision rules require clear and convincing evidence, and the act takes effect on October 1, 2025.
