HB96 would require Alabama public high schools to excuse students from class for National Signing Day activities and provide reasonable accommodations.
If enacted, high schools must excuse participating students from instructional time for organized National Signing Day activities related to athletic scholarships, postsecondary commitments, apprenticeships, and military enlistments. They must also provide reasonable accommodations for these activities, such as meeting space with connectivity and seating. The measure would take effect on October 1, 2025.
