Room 206 at 09:30:00
Under existing law, a person convicted of driving under the influence for the first time may have his or her mandatory 90-day driver license suspension stayed if he or she has an approved ignition interlock device installed and operating on his or her designated motor vehicle for 90 days.
This bill would require a person convicted of driving under the influence for the first time to have an approved ignition interlock device installed and operating on his or her motor vehicle for six months.
This bill would also make conforming changes.
