Senate Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry Hearing
room 316 at 14:30:00

Authorizes oyster aquaculture licensees to harvest, shuck, and serve oysters at their facility for free product tastings.
The bill defines 'product tasting' as no-cost oyster samples to evaluate taste and texture. It allows oyster aquaculture licensees to harvest, shuck, and serve oysters from their facility specifically for product tasting, even if other laws would normally require additional permits. It does not override harvest restrictions that exist under Section 9-12-126. The act becomes effective on October 1, 2026.
