- County commission procurement; procurement program allowed to apply to purchase of services, county commission allowed to consider administrative savings
- Description
Under existing law, county commissions may adopt a procurement or purchasing program to simplify purchases that applies only to purchases of tangible personal property.
This bill would allow a procurement or purchasing program to apply to purchases of services.
Under existing law, county commissions must consider whether a procurement or purchasing program provides cost savings to the county.
This bill would allow county commissions to consider whether a procurement or purchasing program provides administrative savings in addition to cost savings.
Under existing law, the county chief administrative officer is responsible for overseeing and managing a procurement or purchasing program.
This bill would also allow county commissions to designate another individual to oversee and manage a procurement or purchasing program.
