House Local Legislation Hearing
Room 200 at 11:37:00

SB67 proposes a constitutional amendment for Walker County to set the maximum age to qualify as Judge of Probate at 75.
It would change the Alabama Constitution (for Walker County) so that a person not over 75 at the time of qualifying for election or at the time of appointment can be elected or appointed as Walker County Judge of Probate. This age limit would apply specifically to this county and not statewide, and would override the current age rule in Section 155 for this office. If voters approve the amendment, it becomes part of the constitution and the Code Commissioner would place it in the constitution with possible minor editorial changes; an election to ratify it would be conducted under the state election laws with standard ballot language.
