Keith Davis

Davis, who is a Republican, said being a county commissioner involves more than just managing roads and bridges. He acknowledges that roads and bridges are “very important, of course, and vital to the success of Walker County,” but added that being a county commissioner today includes much more. “It takes being able to manage the county finances and to recruit and bring industry and jobs to Walker County. That is what I have done these past 9 years on the Commission” Davis said.

“I’ve been focused on business since I was 16 years old,” Davis said. He started his first business while he was in high school and later sold out to his business partner in order to help finance his education at the University of Alabama. “I took a full load of classes and worked more than 60 hours a week to put myself through college. Those were busy times,” Davis said. “My family taught me the value of hard work from an early age. Those lessons are still important to me today.”

Growing up on a farm also taught Keith the value of hard work.

Keith has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance, banking administration and financial services from the University of Alabama. He has worked in real estate for the past 20 years. He is currently a broker/realtor with Joseph Carter Realty. Lori, his wife of 24 years, is a high school guidance counselor/teacher. They have two daughters, Lilli and Elli.

Aside from working as a realtor, Keith takes an active leadership role at the Church of Christ at Blackwater Macedonia, where he and Lori both teach Bible classes. A member of the Walker Board of Realtors, Executive member of the Walker County Republican Party, a member of the National Association of Realtors, a member of Chamber of Commerce of Walker County, the Association of County Commissioners, and National Association of County Commissioners.

Davis is an ACCA PLAN program and a Leadership Walker County graduate. He serves on the ACCA workers compensation board and the ACCA legislative committee.
