Title
Alabama Student Grant Program, approved institution of higher learning, requirement to be seeking accreditation by Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools removed, institution in Montgomery Co. added to program, Sec. 16-33A-1 am'd. (2010-20460)
Description

Under existing law, for purposes of the Alabama Student Grant Program, the definition of approved institution includes the requirement that the institution be nonprofit.

This bill, for purposes of the Alabama Student Grant Program, would remove the requirement that an approved institution of higher learning be nonprofit and remove the qualifying requirement that an approved institution be formally seeking accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

This bill would also provide further for the time when the acceptance of credits by other institutions would be sufficient to constitute an approved institution.
