Title
Foundation Program, combining of fractional teacher units to make whole units authorized, units not combined to be used for salaries and benefits, Sec. 16-13-232 am'd.; Act 2010-556, 2010 Reg. Sess. am'd.
Description

Under existing law, the number of teacher units provided a K-12 public school for the apportioning of Foundation Program funds is based upon the number of pupils in average daily membership at the school and may be a fractional number.

This bill would allow local boards of education to combine fractional teacher units to make a whole unit and would allow the local board of education to place those teachers where needed in the school system.

This bill would also provide that any funds received by a local board of education for a fractional unit, that are not combined to make a whole teacher unit, shall be available for use by the local board of education for salaries and benefits.
