Conservation and Natural Resources Department, Advisory Board, appointment of additional members, nominated by Organized Seafood Association of Alabama, Inc., Sec. 9-2-14 am'd.
Description

Under existing law, the Advisory Board of Conservation and Natural Resources is composed of the Governor, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries, the Director of the Agricultural Extension System, and 10 other members appointed by the Governor, with one of these members being a resident of each Congressional district as constituted on January 1, 1998.

This bill would provide for the appointment of four additional members to the advisory board.

Two of these members would be commercial fishermen appointed as follows: One would be appointed by the chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry and one would be appointed by the chair of the House Committee on Agriculture and Forestry. Both of these members would be appointed from a list of three nominees for each position nominated by the Organized Seafood Association of Alabama, Inc. The other two additional members would be at-large members appointed by the chairs of the same committees.
