Title
Retirement, participation further provided for in Teachers' Retirement System and Employees' Retirement System, Secs. 16-25-3, 36-27-4 am'd.
Description

Under existing law, all teachers and education employees must become members of the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) as a condition of their employment.

This bill would provide that current TRS members may elect to discontinue membership in the system and would require that such member may not withdraw contributions and interest until separation from employment or upon retirement.

This bill would allow new employees to elect not to be covered in the membership of the TRS.

This bill would provide that current ERS members may elect to discontinue membership in the system and would require that such member may not withdraw contributions and interest until separation from employment or upon retirement.

This bill would allow new employees to elect not to be covered in the membership of the ERS.
