HB552 amends Madison County's lodging tax to send proceeds to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Foundation for capital equipment and improvements, with an end date of September 30, 2022.

After deducting a reasonable cost of collection, the net proceeds are paid to the county treasury and distributed by the county commission to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Foundation for use by the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission to acquire capital equipment and fund improvements to its buildings and property in Madison County. The act also sets a sunset date of September 30, 2022 and becomes effective after the governor signs it.
