Title
Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, and President Pro tempore of the Senate, authorized to designate an individual to represent him or her on committees, boards, commissions or agencies
Description

Under existing law, there is no provision that generally authorizes the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, and President Pro Tempore of the Senate to designate persons to replace them on a committee, board, commission, or other agency on which they serve ex officio.

This bill would allow the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, and President Pro Tempore of the Senate to designate persons to replace them on a committee, board, commission, or agency on which they serve ex officio. The bill would limit the committees, boards, commissions, and agencies to those created by statute or rule of the Legislature, would specify that the manner in which the designation is made, would authorize the designation to be terminated at any time, and would provide that if other law or rule of the Legislature provided for a different manner of designation or different terms and conditions on a designation, that law or rule would control.
