- Description
Under existing law, the governing body of a municipality may contract with a private company for the construction, extension, or repair of a municipal building plant, waterworks system, or electric light and power plant.
This bill would authorize the governing body of a municipality to enter into agreements with private companies, registered as service contract providers pursuant to statute, to provide ancillary service contracts to residential utility customers with the endorsement of the municipality. This bill would also authorize the governing body to apply any fees it receives pursuant to such an agreement to its general revenue fund.
