Good Samaritan Law, providers of safe shelter in severe weather, granted civil immunity for providing safe shelter, Act 2011-579, 2011 Reg. Sess., am'd; Sec. 6-5-332 am'd
Description

Under existing law, certain persons who render assistance at the scene of an accident or emergency situation are in certain circumstances granted civil immunity for their actions.

This bill would provide civil immunity to an entity or individual that provides access to a safe place in times of severe weather to any person if the entity or individual was acting in good faith and the damage or injury was not caused by the willful or wanton negligence or misconduct of the entity or individual.
