Bill Summary
Under existing law, the State Board of Dental Examiners is the entity responsible for licensing and regulating dentists and dental hygienists in the state.
This bill would authorize the board to charge and collect an Impaired Dental Professionals Committee annual monitoring fee.
This bill would provide further for run-off elections.
This bill would authorize the president of the board to designate any member of the board to issue subpoenas.
This bill would also provide that depositions taken in matters pending before the circuit court be returnable directly to the board office in lieu of returning them to the circuit clerk.
To amend Sections 34-9-16, 34-9-40, 34-9-46, 34-9-47, and 34-38-2, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the State Board of Dental Examiners and the Alabama Impaired Professionals Committee; to authorize the board to charge and collect an Impaired Dental Professionals Committee annual monitoring fee; to provide further for run-off elections; to authorize the president of the board to designate any member of the board to issue subpoenas; and to provide that depositions taken in matters pending before the circuit court be returnable directly to the board office.
