Title
Construction Recruitment Institute, membership of Board of Directors increased, appointing authorities altered, Sec. 40-10-724 am'd.
Description

Under existing law, the three members of the Board of Directors of the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute are appointed by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House from lists of names provided by the Alabama local users group of the Construction Users Roundtable, the Board of Directors of the Alabama American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, the Associated General Contractors, the Alabama Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, the Mid-Gulf Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, the North Alabama Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, and the American Subcontractors Association.

This bill would increase the membership of the board from three to seven, would include the President Pro Tempore of the Senate as an appointing authority, and would provide that appointments be made as nominated and submitted by the Construction Users Roundtable, the Building and Construction Trades Department, the Associated General Contractors, the Subcontractors Association of Alabama, and the Alabama Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, or their successor organizations.
