Title
Spring Hill College, police officers, appointment, Sec. 16-22-1 am'd.
Description

Under existing law, the president or chief executive officer of any state college or university and of certain other specified educational institutions may appoint and employ persons to act as police officers to keep off intruders and prevent trespass to the property of the institution.

Also under existing law, such appointed officers are deemed peace officers whose authority extends to any place in the state in certain specified situations.

This bill would add Spring Hill College to the list of institutions that are authorized to appoint such police officers.
