Bill Summary
Under existing law, a person who is 17 years of age or older may donate blood in a voluntary and noncompensatory blood donation program without the permission of a parent or guardian.
This bill would authorize a person who is 18 years of age or older to donate blood in a compensatory blood donation program or plasma donation program without the permission of a parent or guardian and would repeal a nonconforming law.
To amend Section 26-1-3.1, Code of Alabama 1975, to authorize persons age 18 years of age or older to donate blood in a compensatory blood donation program or plasma donation program without the consent of a parent or guardian; and to repeal Section 26-1-3, Code of Alabama 1975.
