Title
Athens State University, president included on Council of Presidents, university is 4-year institution for purposes of tuition and distance learning, code commissioner authorized to insert appropriate language regarding university in code, Secs. 16-5-5, 16-64-4, 16-64-5 am'd.
Description

In 2012, Athens State University was reconstituted and placed under the direction of its own board of trustees.

This bill would include the President of Athens State University as a member of the Council of Presidents and would provide for the appointment of members by the Chancellor of Postsecondary Education in lieu of the State Superintendent of Education.

This bill would provide, for purposes of setting tuition and distance learning rates, that Athens State University be treated the same as other state institutions of higher education.

This bill would also authorize the Code Commissioner to make the appropriate changes in terminology in the code to reflect the reconstituted status of Athens State University.
