Title: Highway Authority, add'l bond issue for roads, bridges, and tunnels authorized, municipalities, counties, and public corporations authorized to enter funding agreements with authority, membership revised to include Governor, Secs. 23-1-154 to 23-1-158, inclusive, am'd.
Description: Under existing law, the Alabama Highway Authority is authorized to finance road and bridge construction projects by issuing bonds.
This bill would revise the membership of the authority to include the Governor in lieu of the Executive Secretary to the Governor.
This bill would provide further for the receipt of donations by the authority and for the use of proceeds.
This bill would authorize the authority to construct, reconstruct, and relocate tunnels in addition to roads and bridges and appurtenances thereto.
This bill would also provide further for the issuance of bonds by the authority and for the use of the proceeds.
