HB268 increases the starting base salary for the St. Clair County sheriff for the sheriff’s first term after enactment by $15,000 per year, with continued cost-of-living increases.
If enacted, the starting base annual salary for the sheriff elected to their first term after the act’s effective date will be increased by $15,000 per year, paid in equal monthly installments from the county’s general fund. The sheriff will continue to be eligible for cost-of-living increases under state law. The act becomes effective immediately after it is passed and approved by the Governor or otherwise becomes law.
