Title

State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, renamed State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers, State Board of Licensure for Professional Land Surveyors, created, transmitting licensing, transfer of funds provided, Secs. 34-44-1 to 34-44-15, inclusive, 34-44-30 to 34-44-38, inclusive, added; Secs. 34-11-1 to 34-11-9, inclusive, 34-11-11, 34-11-14, 34-11-15, 34-11-16, 34-11-30, 34-11-31, 34-11-35, 34-11-36 am'd.

Description

Under existing law, the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is responsible for licensing and regulating the practices of engineering and land surveying in the state.

This bill would create the State Board of Licensure for Professional Land Surveyors, would transfer the authority for licensing and regulating land surveyors from the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors to the State Board of Licensure for Professional Land Surveyors, and would rename the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.

This bill would require the Executive Director of the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors to transfer all property, records, files, and other information relating to the licensure and regulation of land surveyors to the State Board of Licensure for Professional Land Surveyors.

This bill would provide for the transfer of existing land surveyor licenses, certificates, and certificates of authorization granted by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors to the State Board of Licensure for Professional Land Surveyors.

This bill would also provide for the equitable division and transfer of funds from the Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Fund to the Professional Engineers Fund and the Professional Land Surveyors Fund.
