SB336 allows off-premises alcohol sales inside certain Alabama community development districts, if the district board approves, expanding beyond current on-premises club sales.
The bill amends the alcohol code to let qualifying community development districts authorize off-premises alcohol sales, subject to the district's majority board of control. For districts formed under 35-8B-1(a), (b), or (d), alcohol can be sold for on-premises use at district clubs to members and their guests if the club is properly licensed and the district board consents. For districts formed under 35-8B-1(e), (f), (g), or (h), seven-days-a-week on-premises sales can occur by any ABC-licensed seller within the district if the district board approves; for districts formed under 1(h), seven-days-a-week sales can include both on-premises and off-premises consumption.
