Description
<p class="bill_description"> Existing law allows an active and
contributing member of the Employees' Retirement
System to be eligible for a certain number of years
of creditable service under certain conditions if
he or she was a regular employee prior to October
1, 2000</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would remove the qualification
that the employee had to be employed prior to
October 1, 2000, to be eligible for the service
credit</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> To amend Section 36-27-70 of the Code of Alabama
1975, relating to reopening of service credits for certain
employees of local agencies or organizations; to remove the
qualification that the employee had to be employed prior to
October 1, 2000, to be eligible for the service credit.
