Title
Sports wagering, authorize the adoption of local legislation, Sec. 13A-12-25.1 added.
Description
<p class="bill_description"> Under existing law, there are certain
statewide offenses relating to gambling</p><p class="bill_description">
Also, under existing law, local legislation
may not be enacted on a subject that is dealt with
by general law unless, among other things, the
general law allows it</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would authorize the adoption of
local legislation authorizing wagering on
professional, collegiate, and amateur sports
contests and athletic events</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> To add Section 13A-12-25.1 to the Code of Alabama
1975; to authorize the adoption of local legislation providing
for wagering on professional, collegiate, and amateur sports
contests and athletic events.
</p>
