- Sports wagering, authorize the adoption of local legislation, Sec. 13A-12-25.1 added.
- Description
Under existing law, there are certain statewide offenses relating to gambling.
Also, under existing law, local legislation may not be enacted on a subject that is dealt with by general law unless, among other things, the general law allows it.
This bill would authorize the adoption of local legislation authorizing wagering on professional, collegiate, and amateur sports contests and athletic events.
