Under existing law, it is unlawful to transport a dead body outside the confines of the state without the body first being embalmed or cremated, except for certain medical reasons
This bill would repeal that law
Relating to dead bodies; to repeal Section 22-19-2, Code of Alabama 1975, which prohibits the transport of a dead body outside the confines of the state without the body first being embalmed or cremated.
Section 1
Section 22-19-2, Code of Alabama 1975, which prohibits a dead body from being transported outside the confines of the state without the body first being embalmed or cremated, is repealed.
Section 2
This act shall become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
