To alter, rearrange, and extend the boundary lines and corporate limits of the City of Demopolis in Marengo County

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. The boundary lines and corporate limits of the City of Demopolis in Marengo County are altered, rearranged, and extended to include within the corporate limits of the city in addition to the lands now included, all of the following territory: Parcel A tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Southwest Quarter of Section 1, Township 17 North, Range 1 East, Marengo County, Alabama, commencing at the Southwest corner of Section 1, Township 17 North, Range East; thence North 89 degrees 04 minutes 49 seconds West 420.00 feet to an existing iron pipe marking the Western boundary of the Demopolis Municipal Airport property, thence North 00 degrees 44 minutes 11 seconds East 417.48 feet to an existing iron pipe; thence South 89 degrees 20 minutes 27 seconds East 328.33 feet to an existing iron pipe; thence North 45 degrees 27 minutes 22 seconds East 641.20 feet to an existing iron pipe; thence South 47 degrees 01 minutes 55 seconds East 67.96 feet to a #5 rebar set with a cap stamped HB406 “Garver Eng. CA #445” (typical), said rebar being the Point of Beginning for Parcel B; thence North 37 degrees 15 minutes 37 seconds East 898.28 feet to a #5 rebar set; thence South 47 degrees 01 minutes 45 seconds East 700.00 feet to a #5 rebar set; thence South 48 degrees 40 minutes 53 seconds West 686.30 feet to a #5 rebar set; thence South 29 degrees 57 minutes 31 seconds East 18.53 feet to an existing iron pipe; thence South 43 degrees 03 minutes 42 seconds West 205.46 feet to an existing iron pipe; thence North 47 degrees 01 minutes 55 seconds West 559.71 feet to the Point of Beginning, said parcel containing 12.66 acres more or less

Section 2

This act shall not extend the police jurisdiction of the City of Demopolis.

Section 3

In accordance with Section 11-42-6(b) of the Code of Alabama 1975, a map showing what territory is proposed to be annexed to the City of Demopolis is on file in the office of the Judge of Probate in Marengo County, Alabama, and the map is open to the inspection of the public. HB406

This act shall become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
