- Description
This bill would revise the municipal election dates in certain municipalities beginning in 2025.
This bill would change the date to the second Tuesday in June preceding a general election for when a mayor of certain municipalities must give notice of the municipal election.
This bill would change the deadline for printing ballots in municipal elections to the fourth Tuesday in June prior to the election, upon confirmation from the Alabama Ethics Commission that the candidate has complied with certain filing requirements.
This bill would revise the time frame for municipal runoff elections from six weeks to four weeks to mirror the run-off time frame for county and state elections.
This bill would also change the deadline for printing and distribution of official ballots and election supplies to 28 days prior to the general municipal election, or 10 days after the election in the case of a runoff municipal election.
This bill would also make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
