Bill Summary
Under existing law, the advisory board of directors of the Department of Senior Services consists of nine members. This bill would authorize the appointment of an additional board member representing a disability organization
Under existing law, the Secretary of the State Department of Labor, the State Health Officer, and the Commissioner of the State Department of Human Resources are ex officio members of the advisory board. This bill would authorize each of these ex officio members to name an individual to act as his or her designee on the board
Relating to the advisory board of directors of the Department of Senior Services; to amend Section 38-3-1 of the Code of Alabama 1975; to allow authorization of a designee to attend meetings on behalf of an ex officio member of the board; and to authorize the appointment of an additional board member who would represent an organization serving individuals with disabilities.
