Under current law, disabled veterans are exempt from certain license taxes, registration fees, and ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles
Disabled veterans are subject to a license plate issuance fee
This bill provides an exemption for disabled veterans from the license plate issuance fee
To provide disabled veterans an exemption from the license plate issuance fee.
Section 1
A disabled veteran who qualifies for a partial or full exemption from privilege license taxes, registrations fees, or ad valorem taxes under Section 32-6-130, 40-12-244, or 40-12-254, Code of Alabama 1975, shall also be exempt from the license plate issuance fee provided in 40-12-271.
Section 2
This act shall become effective January 1, 2022, following its passage and approval by the Governor, or upon its otherwise becoming law.
