Description

Relating to Jefferson County; to permit wagering on the results of certain professional or collegiate sports or athletic events and other events authorized as sports wagering activities; to create the Jefferson County Sports Wagering Commission; to provide rulemaking authority to the commission; to allow the commission to issue licenses relating to sports wagering; to establish license requirements and prohibitions; to authorize licensing fees; to define the duties of an operator conducting sports wagering; to require the posting of betting limits; to authorize sports wagering agreements with other governments; to create the Jefferson County Sports Wagering Fund; to authorize the collection of license fees; to authorize the commission to collect an administrative allowance from gross sports wagering receipts; to authorize the commission to levy and collect a tax in the amount of 10 percent of adjusted gross sports wagering receipts; to provide for the distribution of monies deposited in the Jefferson County Sports Wagering Fund; to authorize certain agreements between the commission and law enforcement agencies; to impose civil penalties for certain violations; and to provide for the forfeiture of property for certain violations.
