Title
Education, Alabama Community College System, workforce reform, requires certain reporting, provides further for duties of board of trustees, Secs. 16-60-111, 16-60-111.4 am'd.
Description

Existing law provides for the composition and authority of the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Community College System.

This bill would add an additional at-large trustee to the board of trustees.

This bill would create a nominating committee to assist the Governor in appointing trustees to the board of trustees.

This bill would provide further for the duties of the board of trustees relating to the approval of certain expenditures.

This bill would create the Workforce Reform and Alignment Act and would require the Alabama Workforce Council to submit an annual report of business and industry workforce needs to the board of trustees and the Legislature containing a peer review of all workforce programs.

This bill would also require the Chancellor of the Alabama Community College System to submit certain reports to the Legislature.

Relating to the Alabama Community College System and workforce development; to amend Sections 16-60-111 and 16-60-111.4, Code of Alabama 1975; to create the Workforce Reform and Alignment Act; to provide for an additional appointment to the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Community College System; to provide for the creation of a nominating committee to assist in the appointment of trustees; to provide further for the duties of the board; and to require the submission of certain reports to the Legislature.
