The bill would exempt the Lieutenant General Victor Krulak Detachment (#1415) of the Marine Corps League and the National Montford Point Marine Association, Inc., Mobile Chapter #33, from state sales and use taxes, with local exemptions possible.
It would remove the state portion of sales and use taxes for two specific organizations. Local governments could also exempt these entities from local sales and use taxes, but only if the local governing body approves via a resolution or ordinance. The measure also specifies an effective date for when these exemptions would start.
