HB323 changes Calhoun County's license commissioner compensation by altering term length, setting a salary, and adding then phasing out a temporary expense allowance.
It amends the law to create a six-year term for Calhoun County's license commissioner beginning with the 1980 election and a starting salary of $22,500 per year from January 1981, paid from the county treasury. It adds an expense allowance equal to 12.5% of the salary starting July 1, 2024, payable monthly from the county's general fund. Beginning with the next term after July 1, 2024, the salary will be 112.5% of the June 1, 2024 salary and the expense allowance will be void. The act becomes effective June 1, 2024.
