HB336 would allow people who hold state or local government offices to serve on local water, sewer, or fire protection authority boards without being paid.
Allows state, county, or municipal officers to serve as uncompensated directors on authority boards. If the individual also holds an office, they may not be compensated for board service; otherwise, directors can be paid up to specified limits per meeting and per year as allowed by the authority's charter. The bill also updates language for current style and can expand the board to seven members in certain municipal annexation scenarios, including resort areas.
