HB410 changes Perry County coroner pay by ending old expense allowances and establishing a fixed $12,000 annual compensation, with transitional rules for the current term.
Beginning June 1, 2024, the Perry County coroner will receive a $12,000 expense allowance per year from the county’s general fund, replacing other expense allowances or fees. The current term’s allowance is temporary and will be repealed at the end of that coroner’s term. Beginning with the next term, the coroner will receive a $12,000 annual salary as the sole compensation, paid from the county general fund. The bill also repeals existing laws that previously governed coroner expense allowances.
