Summary

Session
2025 Regular Session
Title
County officials, uniform increases such as cost-of-living, newly elected or appointed officials, included in initial compensation under Omnibus Pay Act
Description

Under existing law, commonly known as the Omnibus Pay Act, designated elected local officials are entitled to receive the same uniform increases in compensation, such as cost-of-living increases, as county employees. However, the law provides that the uniform increases are not included in the base compensation for the local official.

This bill would provide that the uniform increases in compensation granted to local officials would be included in the initial compensation of the local officials.
