Senate Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry Hearing
room 316 at 14:30:00
Under existing law, commissions consisting of associations of producers of a specific agriculture commodity may be certified by the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries to conduct a referendum on levying an assessment to promote the respective commodity that members of the association produce.
This bill would increase the levy that may be assessed on the sale of a cotton bale.
This bill would also make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
