HB434 sets Talladega County sheriff pay on a staged schedule, adding an expense allowance now and a fixed base salary later, and repeals older compensation laws.
Through January 18, 2027, the sheriff keeps the base annual salary that was in effect on May 31, 2025. Beginning June 1, 2025, the sheriff will receive an annual expense allowance of $15,200.32, paid in equal monthly installments from the county general fund. On January 18, 2027, the sheriff's base salary becomes $112,000 per year, paid monthly, and the salary and expense allowance from subsections (a) and (b) are void.
